Topic:  Weed Control

 

Speaker: John J. Harper,
               Harper's Nursery

John J. Harper of Harper’s Nursery will give  us the “low-down” on weed control. There will also be an advance sale of our tomato plants which have been grown from seed by Karl Dennison and Cliff Schneider as well as seed packets of both flowers and vegetables that were donated by Baker Nursery. 

 

SPRING 2010 AZ-NM REGION MEETING

Date:    Monday, March 20, 2010

          Valley Garden Center

(one block north of McDowell Rd. on the corner of Coronado and 15th Ave.)
 

Time: 

The Valley if the Sun Gardeners club will host the meeting with Bill Carls presiding We will have coffee and muffins available for the morning and set up a grill for hot dogs and hamburgers for lunch.  Tea & lemonade will also be served. A donation of $10.00 is suggested.

IN MEMORIAM

In more than 20 years as a member of The Valley of the Sun Gardeners, Jerry served as President, Vice President, and board member of both the Valley of The Sun Gardeners club and the AZ-NMN Region of The Gardeners Of America/Men’s Garden Clubs of America.  He was always a cheerful volunteer at our club functions and one of the hardest workers.  He will be missed by all of us.

FUTURE TGOA-MGCA NATIONAL CONVENTIONS

"Together Again In 2010" is the slogan for the 2010 TGOA/MGCA National Convention. Chairman John Kessen and co-chair Hugh Earnhart, along with the entire convention committee have already completed most of the preliminary planning.
