1809 North 15th Avenue
(one block north of McDowell Rd. on the corner of

Ice Cream Social slide show
features your garden photos.
Our July
meeting will be our popular Ice Cream Social featuring Helen Baird’s
PowerPoint presentation of photographs from our members’ own gardens. During
this hot season when it’s best to just stay out of the sun, we look forward
to celebrating not only our country’s freedom, but also the bountiful
harvest of our gardens. We have plenty to be thankful for. Helen has also
included slides of our tomato-selling activities and our regional meeting.
Bring your Ice Cream and Toppings at 6:30
p.m.
We will serve
immediately after everyone has put their ice cream and toppings on the long
tables. Look for the labels directing you where to put Ice Cream, cakes,
brownies, fresh fruits and nuts; chocolate, strawberry and other syrups.
What to bring? Bring what you would like to eat! Please be generous! Invite
your friends and family! We encourage it! This is a potluck, so be sure to
bring additional ice cream and toppings if you bring extra people. If you
didn’t already sign up at the June meeting, please RSVP how many in your
party and what you plan to bring. We want set up enough round tables to
accommodate everyone. Remember to bring serving spoons.
Participate and learn during the informal
question and answer period.
At our July meeting, about the time
some of us are patting our tummies and pushing back from the tables and
others are refilling their ice cream bowls, Bill Carls will lead us in a
casual discussion of what’s happening in our gardens now. We all enjoy the
chance to learn successful gardening techniques and hear about the
challenges other members have faced. This just might give us the spark we
need to start thinking about preparing our gardens for the next season. Oh,
how we love gardening!
